“Elysium” (2013) Trailer #2

Sony Pictures has released the second trailer for director Neil Blomkamp’s (District 9) upcoming film, Elysium.

This second trailer offers a ton of new footage and clarifies the motivation for the main character played by Matt Damon. There’s a clearer narrative to the film’s structure thanks to this trailer.

Elysium also stars Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Talisa Soto, Michael Shanks, William Fichtner, Alice Braga and Diego Luna with an August 9th release date.

From TriStars Pictures comes the second poster for director Neil Blomkamp’s (District 9) sci-fi flick, Elysium.

This second poster once again features the film’s leading man in Matt Damon, armed and ready for an assault on Elysium, the orbiting space station where the rich dwell. 

Elysium also stars Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Diego Luna, Talisa Soto, Michael Shanks and Faran Tahir with an August 9th release date.

“Elysium” (2013) TV Spot #1

Sony and TriStar Pictures have released the first TV spot for Neil Blomkamp’s upcoming sci-fi film, Elysium.

The TV spot doesn’t feature any new footage, taking clips from the film’s first trailer instead and highlighting the film’s action and two leads of Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.

Elysium also stars Sharlto Copley, William Fichtner, Michael Shanks, Alice Braga, Talisa Soto, Diego Luna and Faran Tahir, with a release date set for August 9th.

Seven New Images From “Elysium”

Along with the release of the film’s first trailer and poster come these new images from Neil Blomkamp’s follow up film to District 9. 

From the film’s official website the images feature cast members Matt Damon, Alice Braga, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley and Diego Luna. 

Elysium tells the tale of a futuristic Earth where the rich dwell in an orbiting space station of paradise named Elysium, while the impoverished live on a desolated Earth. Things change when a man decides to bring equality to the polarized world.

Elysium is set for an August 9th release and also stars William Fichtner, Michael Shanks and Talisa Soto.

“Elysium” Debut Trailer

The YouTube channel Movie Clips Trailers has provided us with our first look at District 9 director Neill Blomkamp’s new film Elysium.

The film stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, William Fichtner & Diego Luna. The only synopsis available for the film is more or less verified by this trailer:

“The impoverished inhabitants of a ruined planet Earth fight to join the safe and pristine living conditions of the space station Elysium, where only the wealthy reside. One resident of the planet’s slums must get to get to the space station and kidnaps someone in order to do so.”

Looks pretty good, and based on Blomkamp’s last film, I’ll be first in line to see it when it opens in the US on August 9th.
