Seven New Images From “Elysium”

Along with the release of the film’s first trailer and poster come these new images from Neil Blomkamp’s follow up film to District 9. 

From the film’s official website the images feature cast members Matt Damon, Alice Braga, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley and Diego Luna. 

Elysium tells the tale of a futuristic Earth where the rich dwell in an orbiting space station of paradise named Elysium, while the impoverished live on a desolated Earth. Things change when a man decides to bring equality to the polarized world.

Elysium is set for an August 9th release and also stars William Fichtner, Michael Shanks and Talisa Soto.

First Look At Jodie Foster In “Elysium”

Three images of Jodie Foster in Elysium have popped up on Twitter.

Elysium is the follow-up film from director Neil Blomkamp, who made his feature film debut with 2009’s critically acclaimed District 9. The pictures focus on Ms. Foster in her role of Secretary Rhodes.

The sci-fi film is set in 2159, where the world’s wealthiest people live in man-made space stations, and the poor reside down on the ruined Earth, with a man looking to bring together the polarized world.

The film also stars Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley, William Fichtner, Michael Shanks, Alice Braga, Diego Luna, Faran Tahir and Talisa Soto.

Elysium opens up on August 9th.

First Image Of Matt Damon In Neil Blomkamp’s “Elysium” It’s been awhile since we last heard about Neil Blomkamp’s follow-up film after his smash debut in 2009’s District 9, but Sony has announced that his next feature film, Elysium, will be part of their presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. With the footage set to appear during their hour and a half panel, this first image of a bald, gun wielding Matt Damon has come up.  Official synopsis below: In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
