There are big things planned for Superior Spider-Man, apparently. Marvel has been teasing all sorts for what will happen with this title, what with the webslinger looking set to be fired from the Avengers, and the teasers for #9 leading to some big changes.
It doesn’t look like those changes will entail Pete coming back just yet, however, with Marvel today announcing that the Superior Spider-Man will wage a one-man war on Shadowland and the Kingpin, starting with Superior Spider-Man #14 in July.

Seemingly one of the worst kept secrets in the geek world has finally been confirmed.

If you had started to worry that between Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Paul Giamatti’s Rhino & Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborne, that there might not be enough villains in the upcoming sequel to last year’s Amazing Spider-Man, fret no more. The Hollywood Reporter said today that Oscar winner Chris Cooper (Adaptation) has signed to play the man who would be Green Goblin.
Granted this isn’t too much of a shock since Oscorp did feature so heavily in the first film’s storyline, it just feels like this film is going to burst at the seams if they add any more major characters to the film.

First Set Photos From “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” Swing By
Well that was quick. Just a day after the reveal of the new Spider-Man costume for The Amazing Spider-Man sequel, set photos have found their way online from the film’s New York set.
The images have been published by the British newspaper The Daily Mail, who proudly note that they managed to get the snaps of Andrew Garfield in costume on the set, where he was performing his own stunts again.
Also spotted on set was Shailene Woodley, who will play Mary Jane Watson in the sequel. And you guessed it — they got a few photos of her walking around, too.
Also an interesting note — but I’m fairly sure that the first image shows the suit from the first film — something happens in the sequel which causes Peter to change his costume?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently slated for a May 2, 2014 release.

Amazing Spider-Man has been in the news a lot over the last few weeks — especially due to the repercussions of issues #698-700. There’s been internet outrage, people swearing off comic books forever, and even death threats to the writer of the comic. And yet, Amazing Spider-Man continues to be my favorite ongoing comic at this point in time. I will always have a soft spot for Peter Parker, and he will always be my favorite character, but I’m not letting that bias color this choice -– Amazing Spider-Man has been, for lack of a better word, amazing this year.
