In some sad news, the BBC yesterday reported that writer, director and producer Gerry Anderson passed away on December 26. He was 83 years of age.

Anderson was diagnosed with mixed dementia in 2010 and his condition was said to have drastically worsened in the past six months. His son Jamie has asked that all donations be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Society by clicking here.

Nickelodeon Releases A Second “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Trailer

After revealing more details about this upcoming series at Comic Con last weekend, Nickelodeon has released another trailer for their new show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The series, which is going to premiere on September 29th on Nickelodeon, will be featuring slight changes from the old school 90s series and the fan favorite 2003 series.

Other than changing the animation style to CGI, the turtles will be featuring a wider array of weapons and fighting styles, including having both Donatello and Michelangelo wield bladed weapons as opposed to their blunt ones.

As a fan of the ridiculous, slapstick-filled 90s series and the more serious, action-oriented 2003 series, I am a bit skeptical about Nickelodeon taking the reigns of this childhood favorite. But I am hoping they will mix the good parts of both former shows and create a great new show!
