Tom Hardy Will Be Sam Fischer In The “Splinter Cell” Movie

Publisher Ubisoft is already hard at work trying to create a movie based on their most famous franchise Assassin’s Creed. Now, according to one rumor, Ubisoft has begun upping the ante even more by starting serious work on a Splinter Cell movie by finding a leading man for the film.

Apparently, Tom Hardy — best known for his acting as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and also his supporting role in Inception — has signed on to play the well-known hero for the Splinter Cell franchise, Sam Fischer.

It isn’t clear if the film is based on a game or if it is a standalone project, but fans of the franchise would well to note that there is a new title in the series, Blacklist, due for release sometime in 2013.

Film Review: Lawless

“Do you have any idea what a Thompson machine gun does to a mortal?”

There’s an old adage about a collective work of art being less than the sum of its parts, and that adage can be firmly and appropriately applied to the new film Lawless. It features a fantastic acting ensemble, a director who knows his way around desolate and sparsely violent landscapes, and a screenwriter/composer who has proven himself adept at both of those worlds… but these parts just don’t add up to a great film. Which is unfortunate, because it had all the potential in the world to be one of the year’s best.

Six New Images For “The Dark Knight Rises” Released

We are getting ever closer to the day that I’m sure that will be in everyone’s diaries, and Warner Bros. are continuing to release snippets for The Dark Knight Rises. Comic-Con International saw no last minute preview, but instead saw six more images from the film released.

Despite not being released until Friday, the film is already getting some nice things said about it too. Perhaps most notable is The Hollywood Reporter’s assertion that the film makes “everything in the rival Marvel universe look thoroughly silly and childish”.

The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20th.

Warner Bros. has released an extended sneak peak of The Dark Knight Rises. This featurette contains a few new clips, interviews with the cast and crew, and a look at the behind-the-scenes process of creating the film.

It’s well worth a watch. I’m basically just sitting here waiting for the film to be released now.

New “Dark Knight Rises” Trailer: ‘I’m Not Afraid, I’m Angry’

Nokia has exclusively revealed a new trailer for the final film in Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.

Packed with new footage and some familiar scenes, it’s a great little trailer, showing just how personal the conflict between Bane and Batman will be. Be warned, however, there is a spoiler line of dialogue in this trailer, so if you want to avoid a plot-point reveal, then I’d advise you to resist watching.

The legend ends July 20th.

“The Dark Knight Rises” (2012) TV Spot - “Retired”

Another TV Spot for The Dark Knight Rises has hit the web, and it’s quite an interesting one at that.

Titled “Retired”, the TV spot gives insight into the film that at some point Batman does indeed retire, most likely prior to the arrival of Catwoman and Bane who prompt him to don the costume once again.

The Dark Knight rises on July 20th.

Three New Banners For “The Dark Knight Rises” Released

The promotional campaign for the end of the Dark Knight legend has really stepped up a notch recently, with various posters and banners being released.

Today is no different, recycling three of the recent character posters into banner format. The design of these banners is somewhat more interesting than the posters however.

The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20.

Four More Film Posters/Banners For “The Dark Knight Rises”

Didn’t I say back in this post that the marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises would get into full swing? Well, over the past few days we’ve seen the release of new character posters, two TV Spots along with the release of new film stills via Batman News and Empire Online, along with the on-going Tumblr Tour which should now be heading over to Chicago, Illinois, to be on display May 25th.

As for now these four new and awesome posters/banners have made their way onto the net via Collider. The bottom two banners feature the two opposing forces of the film with Bane standing at the head of his convict army while Batman stands ahead of the Gotham Police Department. Another thing to note is the top left banner which would insinuate the types of odds Batman and the GPD will face in the movie considering that Bane and his army take up 2/3 of the banner space.
