In a move that will surprise almost no one, the break-out hit PC mod DayZ is becoming a standalone title. Leading the project is the DayZ’s creator, Dean Hall, and the game will be published by Bohemia Interactive, developers of ARMA II, the game DayZ is built on top of.
The game will use the Minecraft style of publishing by slowing building up the game through phases while charging discounted prices. The announcement of the standalone game will not currently affect those playing DayZ currently as development and updates of the mod will continue as they develop the full game.
And for those not in the know about DayZ yet, look for our piece about it coming up later today.
