Adult Swim’s “Black Dynamite” Trailer
The trailer for Adult Swim’s animated series based off the blaxploitation film, Black Dynamite, has hit the web.
Though the pilot episode was aired last August, the series has finally gotten its schedule down and is set to premiere this July 15th. It sees the film’s cast members including star Michael Jai White, Byron Minns, Tommy Davidson and Kym Whitley reprise their roles in this animated version.

Hopefully this news isn’t interrupting your kung-fu, but if you haven’t seen 2009’s Black Dynamite, you’re depriving yourself of one of the absolute funniest movies of the last decade. According to The Playlist, writer/star Michael Jai White (Gamble from The Dark Knight), a sequel to the cult hit begins shooting later this year.
An animated spin-off is also in development with Cartoon Network & Adult Swim, so it’s time to catch this spot-on spoof of 70’s Blaxploitation movies if you haven’t seen it yet. White is brilliant in it, and if you only know him from some of his less-than-stellar movies (which he apparently has a great sense of humor about), you’ll be pleasantly surprised by his work in Black Dynamite.

Black Dynamite animated series coming to Adult Swim
Listen here, jive turkeys. Not much is known in terms of a premiere date, but according to executive producer Carl Jones (The Boondocks), an animated series based off of the blaxploitation spoof will indeed be part of the Adult Swim line-up on Cartoon Network.
The show will continue to follow Black Dynamite and the gang, as they battle evil doers with knowledge of scientific transmogrification and a zest for kung-fu treachery. Actors from the film will reprise their roles as voice talents.
