A group of Japanese students at the University of Tsukuba have designed a coat that creates a hugging sensation. The Riajuu Coat, dubbed the “Girlfriend Coat” by the media, simulates hugging from behind through the use of a robotized belt. The belt “squeezes” the wearer lightly, simulating a girlfriend/boyfriend’s hug from behind.

Women Use Kinect To Try On Clothes…Without Actually Trying On Clothes
Topshop, a European clothing retailer primarily catering to women, recently ran a Kinect-utilized experiment in one of their stores in Moscow. They installed a Kinect into a mirror in the middle of their women’s department, which allowed women to view themselves trying on clothes (of the virtual variety).
How this substitutes trying on real clothes in a real clothing department is beyond me—oh wait, I know! If you love to shop for clothes but have a phobia of taking off your clothes in public, or you know, in private dressing rooms, fear no more!
Now you can’t argue that the Kinect has no uses. So there.

The hotly anticipated Atlus title Catherine will have a special edition for it. As with every special edition, it includes extra goodies for a premium price. What makes Catherine an extra special girl(s) is the t-shirt, boxer shorts, and pillowcase that are included (see above). All this will be packed inside a pizza box from the “Stray Sheep”, a location from the game, for $79.99.
Atlus also announced that pre-orders will come with a bonus artbook and soundtrack, regardless of edition ordered. Just another incentive for fans that can’t wait for July 26.

For those that have wanted to take the experience of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker beyond the PSP, you’ll get your chance to at least dress the part.
Konami revealed a clothing line from the game to be released this month in the US and Canada.
“Our partnership will give fans the opportunity to ‘suit up’ for one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, specifically for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker,” said Konami’s Careen Yapp. “The mass success and support for our latest Metal Gear Solid hit has allowed us to expand beyond what we’ve done in the past with the series, and we are very much looking forward to offering this new line to a global community of fans.”
The first line of clothing will be released April 11. Konami is doing the clothing line in conjunction with Musterbrand and will include t-shirts, pants, hats and jackets.
More is expected to be released quarterly throughout the year.
