Osamu Tezuka Manga Inspires Lacoste Shirts And Shoes

French apparel company Lacoste has teamed up with Tezuka Productions to produce a new collection inspired by the works of Ozamu Tezuka. The six shirts (t-shirts and polo) and shoes feature artwork from Astro Boy, Black Jack, and The Mysterious Underground Men. The clothing went on sale in Lacoste L!VE Harajuku Olympia Annex but are also available online through Lacoste’s official site.

T-shirts will sell for 7,875 yen (about US $78), and polos will sell for 16,800 yen (US $165).

Meanwhile, the Astro Boy inspired kicks are currently available for pre-order. They will come out in August for 17,325 yen (US $171). But hurry fast as there are only going to be 50 pairs available.

The Riajuu Coat AKA ‘Girlfriend Coat’

A group of Japanese students at the University of Tsukuba have designed a coat that creates a hugging sensation. The Riajuu Coat, dubbed the “Girlfriend Coat” by the media, simulates hugging from behind through the use of a robotized belt. The belt “squeezes” the wearer lightly, simulating a girlfriend/boyfriend’s hug from behind.

Dress Up Like “One Piece’s” Sanji

Impressed with the style of One Piece’s resident chef, Sanji? If you’ve got the money, you can officially dress like him. Premium Bandai is taking pre-orders for the tailored suit worn by the Straw Hat Pirates member. The jacket is 100 percent wool and along with pants, comes in Japanese sizes medium and large for about $585.

Bandai will also be selling the dress shirt ($163) and tie($56), as well as the polyester diamond-pattern jacket ($226) that the character wears in One Piece Film: Z.

All of this will ship next April.

Stylish “Monster Hunter” Jacket

It must really pay to be an overseas Monster Hunter fan. Capcom has got an assortment of Monster Hunter-related items up for sale, including potion cell phone charms, mugs, t-shirts, and even calendars.

All of those are nice, but the cream of the monster crop is probably this stylish jacket. It’s a Sukajan jacket with Jinouga on the back, and man does it look cool.

Along with the rest of the items, you’ll be able to find the jacket on Capcom’s Japan Online Store. But make sure your pockets are deep. The $431 price also shows that it pays to be a Monster Hunter fan with money.

“Mega Man” Hoodie Jackets

Capcom decided to team up with clothing company Punk Drunkers to create these line of Mega Man/Rockman-inspiried hoodies.

The hoodies come in blue and black and feature the little blue bomber and “P” tank pockets. You can also pull out a hidden Mega Buster and flip on the helmet for your own Dr. Wily-defeating adventures.

They will be sold on Capcom’s online Japanese site and come in Japanese sizes small to XL. They’ll be released this mid-October to November for roughly $188. The site is also selling special Mega Man/Punk Drunkers t-shirts for $67.

Sugoi Desu Ne - Kigurumi

‘Kigurumi’ is a Japanese word for a costumed performer, like the ones you’ll find at amusement parks.  But it has also taken off as a sort of street fashion craze which consist of a hooded jumpsuit in a popular animal or character.  You will notice a lot of these at anime conventions.

Diemortalroom creates custom kigurumi that are more elaborate then those you’ll find sold at most conventions.

AM² 2012: h.NAOTO Sixh.Opera Fashion Show

h.NAOTO is a successful fashion designer specializing in gothic, punk and lolita fashion. Around mid-2000s, h.NAOTO created h.ism, which mixed Visual Kei, music, and fashion working together as one. His success with h.ism lead to a collaboration with IBI and Mint, creating a line now known as Sixh. IBI’s line, Sixh, is inspired by mixing together Visual Kei and host/hostess club. IBI cleverly calls this Ghost-Kei, combining the words ‘gothic’ and ‘host’.

“The Bravest Warriors” World Exclusive License Acquired By WeLoveFine.com

WeLoveFine.com, an online hub selling the “most creative designs on the web,” has announced that it has acquired the world exclusive design license to The Bravest Warriors, a space adventure web series launching this fall on Cartoon HangoverSix new t-shirts from the series can be purchased now for a retail price of $25 each.

The Bravest Warriors centers around four 16-year-old heroes who go around the galaxy “saving cute alien worlds with their emotions.” It comes from Frederator Studios and Pendleton Ward, the same minds who also created Adventure Time. It is written and produced by Breehn Burns (Dr. Tran).
