As evening falls on The Windy City, C2E2 is winding down. Many parents are dragging their children, kicking & screaming, from the convention, and lord knows if it were socially acceptable, a lot of these geeks would be throwing tantrums right alongside them.

The afternoon of Day Two was jam packed with activity. Patton Oswalt hosted a Q&A that was being twitter-bombed by Brian Posehn, Burt Ward & Julie Newmar took part in what could best be described as a disastrous Q&A, and I got to take part in some Sci-Fi Speed Dating. Read on for more…

It’s Saturday in Chicago, and you know what that means: Day Two of C2E2 2013. The lines are longer, the crowds are bigger, and the cosplayers are bringing their A Game.
As part of my morning coverage, I conducted a Hi 5 interview with comic artist & writer Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash) and tried to avoid getting crushed to death by the maddening crowd. More after the break…

The famous east coast otaku convention, Otakon, will be heading west with the event Otakon Vegas. The convention will be held at Planet Hollywood from January 3-5. As of now, online registration is not open, but hotel reservations are available.
The Chairman of Otakon Vegas explains the new event.
“Otakon Vegas is a new event that will allow us to further our mission. We’ve currently hit a limit on what we can do in Baltimore, so we looked to expand instead of to grow only in one location. As well, we wanted to create a smaller and more intimate setting where we can try out new things. With that in mind, we’re working on some exciting new events and formats that might not lend itself to our larger event in Baltimore.”

The news was announced last Thursday on Kawaii Kon’s newsletter that Noizo Ito, the character designer behind prominent series such as Haruhi Suzumiya and Shakugan no Shana, will be there as a guest.
The official T-shirts of the convention will be drawn by Ito and can be pre-ordered at the price of $20. There’ll be a limited stock during the convention itself, but at a higher price.
Kawaii Kon will happen at the Hawaii Convention Center at Honolulu from March 15-17.
