A Realistic “Transformers” Costume

This ‘Bolt’ Transformers costume is probably more than meets the eye. Sorry, couldn’t resist. The video and costume come courtesy of Marksprojects who said that it features:

“… moving eyes, working light-up and smoke thrusters to moving mouth piece with voice amplifier to remote control arms with moving features in the arms as well as insane level detailing and transformers movie esthetics.. this is the best piece i have ever done and really proud of the end result.”

Take a look at the video and judge for yourself.

The afternoon of Day Two was jam packed with activity. Patton Oswalt hosted a Q&A that was being twitter-bombed by Brian Posehn, Burt Ward & Julie Newmar took part in what could best be described as a disastrous Q&A, and I got to take part in some Sci-Fi Speed Dating. Read on for more…

It’s Saturday in Chicago, and you know what that means: Day Two of C2E2 2013. The lines are longer, the crowds are bigger, and the cosplayers are bringing their A Game.

As part of my morning coverage, I conducted a Hi 5 interview with comic artist & writer Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash) and tried to avoid getting crushed to death by the maddening crowd. More after the break…

Geek Spotlight: How to Avoid Cosplay Fail

image

[via]

Christmas is all said and done, and the New Year is quickly approaching. You know what that means: time to prep for con season!

Con Season (or as some like to call it, “Summer”) is awesome, not just because conventions bring people with similar interests together to hang out, but also for the amazing cosplay people come up with. Unfortunately, some people would rather shy away from something so astoundingly awesome and hardcore. They’re afraid of failure or looking like a n00b. Or maybe they just haven’t thought about who to cosplay as yet.

Well, I am here to help you with that by sharing the pitfalls to avoid when cosplaying for a convention. And what’s better, I can do this by telling the story of my completely epic fail my first year of cosplaying at Anime Expo. So whether you need a confidence boost, need some tips or pointers, or just want to read an incredibly embarrassing story, read on after the break.

Buzz Lightyear Costume Made Out Of Balloons

Balloon artist Jeff Wright decided to take his Buzz Lightyear costume to “Infinity and Beyond.” The costume is made out of balloons, which make me wonder just how careful he has to walk in it to avoid any pops.

You can see more of Wright’s work here.

Dragon*Con 2012 Gangnam Style Music Video

In Korea, PSY’s Gangnam Style has swept the nation with its silly dance moves and upbeat tempo. Then it spread throughout the rest of the world.

It’s a cult… and it hit Dragon*Con 2012 with a fever pitch. Watch as your favorite characters participate in this project.

If you know the dance, I suggest you dance along because you know you want to. Enjoy the MV, or if you prefer the original, by all means, give it a GO
