The anime sequel to hit TV anime series Eureka Seven, Eureka Seven AO, was recently announced; sadly, with very little details. However, in a leaked magazine scan, tiny bits of information are trickling in via an interview.
In this particular interview, it has been confrimed that Eureka Seven AO is a direct sequel to the TV series; not a spinoff, not an alternate universe and definitely not a sequel to the AU OVA.

Earlier today, it was announced that the sequel to Eureka Seven titled “Eureka Seven Ao” would be serialized as a manga in the February issue of Kodakawa Shoten’s Monthly Shounen Ace.
Many had wondered if an anime adaptation of the sequel was just around the corner as well. They’ll be glad to know that is indeed the case.
The sequel to the popular and award-winning anime, Eureka Seven, has been announced in the latest issue of Shouen Ace in the form of manga serialization.
Titled “Eureka Seven AO”, the sequel will start serializing in the next issue of Shouen Ace, which is scheduled to be released in January 2012.
I sure hope that this will eventually lead to an anime sequel to Eureka Seven!
