“Mass Effect 3” Facebook Game Goes Live, Not Really That Interesting

It’s here! Finally! The tie-ins and free DLC guns and goodies I’ve waited for since time immemorial are coming right to my hard drive with a brand spankin’ new facebook game! Right? Right?

Well, sort of.

Bioware has another Facebook game filled with exclusive DLC ready and waiting for the Mass Effect 3 fans, but it’s not really anything to sneeze at. You get missions. These include “recruit a friend” and “watch a video.” Not really as epic as the game we’re waiting to play.

I’m still going to do it because I’m a love slave of Bioware, but come on guys. You can sign up for the so far lackluster Mission Command here.

Facebook Launching Music Service

According to a tweet by CNBC, Facebook will be launching a music service on September 22. It hints at a possible partnership with iTunes, though some have speculated (hoped) that Facebook will team up with Zune or Spotify.

There used to be another social network that integrated music into their service. My-something. Can’t quite remember.

New XBox Dashboard To Be Named ‘Twist Control’

Microsoft unveiled a floor demo of Xbox 360’s new dashboard interface, which will be titled Twist Control, during Gamescom 2011.

Twist Control has a new menu setup, with the option to channel hop utilizing Kinect’s motion and voice control. A new ‘Beacons’ feature will be located in the Social Channel, allowing Xbox Live and Facebook friends to view exactly what gamers are doing.

Speaking of Facebook, more features incorporating the social network will be implemented once Twist Control hits live, like the ability to ‘like’ Xbox games.

Expect Twist Control to be released sometime before the end of the year.
