Domino’s Pizza x Hatsune Miku Team Up To Serve You Food And Entertainment!
If you’re in Japan and you like Domino’s Pizza and Hatsune Miku, then this is for you. Download the app on your iPhone and you can use it to pose with Miku or put her in your choice of surroundings using augmented reality (AR) technology. Once you get the pizza box, use the app to turn it into a virtual stage for Miku to sing and dance for you while you eat.
I probably will not be able to see this first hand so the photo below is the closest I’ll get to it.

Goku Is Down With The Colonel
It shouldn’t be much of surprise that Goku would like fried chicken from KFC. Heck, considering how his stomach makes him an all-you-can-eat restaurant’s worst nightmare, I’m sure he’s a fan of most fast food joints.
KFC is helping to promote Dragon Ball Z: The Battle Of The Gods, meaning this special commercial and those nifty promotional items. Wonder how much they’ll sale for on import sites?

I’ve been needing some inspiration to start baking, and this weekend the puzzle game Spirits by Spaces of Play gave me just that. Sure, my cupcakes look more like ghosts than the waif-like mushroom spirits in the game, but I can assure you that my ghosts are much tastier.
As for the gaming, Spirits dishes out a dreamy puzzling experience, with some of the most gorgeous artwork I’ve ever seen in a game.

When you think of arcade video games, some of the first that come to mind are probably Namco classics like Pac-man and Space Invaders — but arcades are sadly a relic of the past as we chug well into the 21st century. Now, Namco is planning a chain of arcade restaurants that may renew people’s interest in arcade games.
Hit the break for details on the prototype restaurant, which has the name Level 256 after the finals levels of Pac-man.

This weekend I’m playing Call of Atlantis on my Kindle Fire, which read me a story from a scroll and whisked me off to Rome and Greece for match-three puzzling like I’ve never seen before.
Sure, match-three games have been done to death. And my pastry this week is hardly original: it’s a snowman cookie from a certain popular coffee shop that seems to be on every corner. But some weekends are about returning to old comforts, and it turns out Playrix’s Call of Atlantis is full of surprises that make it an addictive game to enjoy on a lazy weekend morning.

With a day of holiday shopping ahead of me — yes, I’m that behind on it — I decided to take a break to play an indie puzzle-platformer from Steam this morning. It’s called Thomas Was Alone, and it starts with the player controlling a small red rectangle named Thomas.
And since I’m housesitting this week, my family was nice enough to make a coffee run for me while I gamed, picking me up a blueberry cream cheese pastry. I already love visiting family for the holidays, but I’ll admit that the pastry pretty much solidified just how much.

About Puzzles and Pastries: Weekend mornings are made for relaxing. For me, that means having a pastry and playing a puzzle game. In this new Pop GO segment, I’ll be talking about the puzzle and platformer games I pick up about every other weekend. Most are fairly inexpensive downloads from Steam, handheld games, or casual games for your smartphone or other intelligent-type device. And if you need a break from life on a weekend morning as I do, I invite you to have a pastry and check out the games, too.
This rainy weekend my pastry goes well with my puzzle game, because the game is called Little Inferno — and it’s basically a big, virtual fireplace. Though you play on the Wii U, I’m watching the crackling fire on my PC screen, enjoying my banana bread as if I were in front of a real fireplace. All it takes to keep the fire going is the constant burning of my virtual toys.

If you’ve ever read One Piece and had your mouth drool at some of the food seen in the manga, then this cookbook may be the one for you.
Fans of the series can cook like Sanji, thanks to this collection of 41 recipes coming out in Japan, for roughly $18.50. The book, which contains step-by-step instructions on how to prepare the food seen in the manga, will release November 28th. So if you’re having a hard time finding a gift for the otaku that cooks, you might want to hit up some import stores.

Popsicle Nightmares
It would be a dream to beat this summer heat with the help of Lord Vader. I mean, what better way to battle sunlight than with soul-crushing darkness with the likes of Freddy Krueger?
Moscow based company Stoyn will at least make you tease the idea in your head with these artistic takes on the concept. These evil treats are a union of pop culture and products known as “ambient marketing.”
Maybe it’s better if they explain: “We believe that ambient is not just a marketing instrument. Ambient is an art of creating an atmosphere at the junction of advertizing[sic], culture, science and lifestyle. We assert that the idea of the brand can be performed in every kind of shape—is it music, or urban landscape, or food.”
Interesting, but some of these flavors don’t exactly sound that appealing. Tomato Hot Pepper? No thank you.
