Karate Kid Vs Mortal Kombat !

Weekend Remix: Finish Him Daniel-san!

Song: Karate Kid Vs. Mortal Kombat
By: DJ Fade
Based On: Techno Syndrome from Mortal Kombat and sound clips from The Karate Kid
Original Composers: The Immortals

So what if Johnny had literally tried to put Daniel in a body bag? It’s what I’ve been wondering while listening to this week’s remix.

The Karate Kid and Mortal Kombat are two completely different properties, where the only loose link is martial arts. However, thanks to DJ Fade, the two synch up for quite an interesting mash-up.

Fade plays around with The Immortals’ techno classic, manipulating the beat like a DJ whose trying to push the crowd beyond party mode. Sprinkle in some familiar sound bytes and it’s almost as if The Karate Kid actually took place in Outworld.

Although to be a fair, I doubt a swan kick is going to do much against a ninja that freezes everything.

Until next weekend…GO Party!

Gaming In Geek Comfort

Sometimes, the difference between clearing the next dungeon or level and losing a life is comfort. So maybe these neat 8-bit throw blankets will help.

They were created by Etsy sellers Penelope and Clyde and created handmade from acrylic yarn. They are currently selling from $145 and up.

Game Review: Game Dev Tycoon

image

When I first laid eyes on Game Dev Tycoon, I thought it was nothing more than a cheap knock-off of Kairosoft’s Game Dev Story on iOS. While Game Dev Tycoon may not be an exact rip-off of Kairosoft’s offering, it isn’t exactly new faire and will have difficulty breaking ground with non-gamers, but will be an addictive casual sim for gamers that want to try their hand at game development with the few clicks of a mouse.

Geek Spotlight: The Xbox One: Conflict And Excitement Meets All-In-One

image

The Xbox One seems to have polarized gamers around the world. There seems to be a strong voice that loves the changes and potential it represents. The other group appears to be up in arms over the potential erasure of used games and a console that requires an internet connection.

I fall somewhere in the middle. I’m not being indecisive; far from it. Actually, I saw a lot to love and a bit to loath all within the span about about an hour because of a single box: the Xbox One.

Gamers More Hostile Towards Opponents That Seem Human

image

A recent study from the University of Connecticut has shown that gamers are more likely to experience aggressive thoughts and words against human-looking characters instead of monster or nonhuman characters.

Whoa, chill out for a bit, then look for more info after the break.

Here’s A List Of Confirmed Xbox One Games

If you thought that Microsoft’s press conference for the Xbox One was light on games, you’re not alone. Gamers still have to wait until E3 in a couple weeks to soak in some Xbox One games with apparently Microsoft having 15 exclusive games in development, 8 of which are new franchises.

However, that hasn’t stopped several already announced games from letting gamers know that they’ll be on Microsoft’s next-gen console.

A complete list of games is after the break and will be updated throughout the day.

Xbox One Will Be Released Before The End Of 2013

image

Well it’s not exactly surprising, Microsoft’s next-gen offering, the Xbox One, will be released before the end of the year.

There were no pricing details or exact dates set, but gamers should be in for one helluva holiday season with the PS4 and Xbox One this winter.

“Forza Motorsport 5” Is Your First Xbox One Launch Game

Turn 10 has been making the stellar Forza series for a decade now, so it seems only natural that it gets a highlight spot at the launch of Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox One.

In the announcement trailer above, gamers get just a taste of the incredible “car-porn” that awaits them later this year when Forza 5 launches exclusively on the Xbox One.

“Call of Duty: Ghosts” World Premiere Trailer

Eric Hirschberg, CEO of Activision, was live onstage to introduce the first Call of Duty game on the next-gen Xbox One. The final portion of the show was saved to show off the Infinity Ward offering, which follows the remnants of the U.S. Special Forces after the country has been devastated and defeated in war. These forces have banded together to form the “Ghosts.”

Among the high fidelity graphics and lighting, it was revealed that players will be joined by a dog. Players will seem to also have to contend with a number of environmental hazards, including earthquakes and floods.

“Halo” Is Getting A Live-Action TV Show

image

It seems that Microsoft is going for broke on Xbox One entertainment. Steven Spielberg appeared in a video at the Xbox One reveal to announce that he would be involved in bringing the Halo universe to television. 343 Industries will also be heavily involved. No further details are known currently.
