Film Review: The Raven

I make a solemn pledge to you, faithful reader, not to use any bad Edgar Allen Poe puns in my review. The film opens with a specious scrawl that reads something to the effect of: “Edgar Allen Poe was found near death on a park bench on October 7, 1849. The last days of his life remain a mystery.” It’s a footnote of history that the film hangs its entire premise on, and it’s just the kind of thing designed to inspire literary nerds to fall all over themselves as they clamor to the box office.

![New Poster For “The Raven” Released
A new poster for what is probably one of the most interesting films that will come out this year, The Raven, has been released. The thriller directed by James McTeigue (V For Vendetta) stars John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe, who must aid the police in capturing a serial killer who has modeled his murders after the famous works of Poe. Starring alongside Cusack is Luke Evans (Immortals) as Detective Emmett Fields.
The film was originally planned for a March 9th release but has been pushed back to April 27th.
