LEGO Goes “Star Wars” For Largest Model

Earlier in Times Square, LEGO unveiled this 1:1 scale model of an X-Wing from Star Wars. The model is not only large enough for someone to sit in, but it is also LEGO’s biggest model.

The model was built using 5,335,200 bricks. Just like an actual X-Wing, the model is 11-feet tall and 43-feet long with a 44-foot wingspan. It took 32 builders a total of four months to complete.

You can also view some of the video of the engines actually sounding and glowing.

“Lord Of The Rings” LEGO Helms Deep

This Lord Of The Rings LEGO edition of Helms Deep was built by Rich-K and Big J and is truly one of the most creative LEGO created film scenes.

It certainly uses a lot. The two used 150,000 LEGO bricks and 1,700 minifigs. I’m sure even Peter Jackson would be impressed.

This creative Lego construction would probably be the perfect wall piece for any Legend Of Zelda fan. Michael Kuroda built this entire overworld map of Hyrule from The Legend Of Zelda with the well-known toy blocks.
Through his Flicker, he writes:

“Each LEGO stud represents 16×16 pixels on the in-game map, and the overall LEGO map is 256 studs wide by 88 studs tall!”

Well, I think I now hear my NES calling to me.
