Metal Gear is the widely venerable series that carries many distinctions: its psuedo-realism comprehensive story, memorable-if-one-dimensional characters and tight gameplay set in tactical espionage action. Its true calling came in 1998 with Metal Gear Solid for the original PlayStation that set new benchmarks in terms of storytelling, and pushed console hardware architecture, and corroborated a unique mythology loosely explored in its 8-bit counterparts (Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake). Since then, each proceeding title underwent significant creative risks in the effort of creating a better game.
While Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots fulfilled the tremendous task of completing the Solid mythos, the world created by Hideo Kojima carries many stories.
Enter Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PS3, 360): The Metal Gear franchise takes a little detour before Ground Zeroes with an action game starring Raiden, protagonist of Metal Gear Solid 2. Developed by the great minds at Platinum Games, this is a pure action experience full of cybernetic super soldiers, slicing-and-dicing, and mounds of limbs and blood.

After a stuffed holiday season, gamers usually anticipate a bit of time off to catch up on last year’s favorites that they might’ve missed or glossed over.
But 2013 is not one of those years.
Looking at the first six months of this year, publishers are pulling out all the stops, delivering games such as Ni No Kuni, DmC, Rayman Legends, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Gears of War: Judgement, and God of War: Ascension. As good as all these games will be, they didn’t even crack the list of Top 5 Most Anticipated Games Of Early 2013.

A few months ahead of its February release, Konami revealed the cover for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance via their Facebook page, featuring Raiden, the cybernetic protagonist of the game, slashing through an enemy, much like you’ll be doing in the full game. Those interested can find a video of the full demo here.
Thankfully, it also avoids the now infamous trope of “chin down, eyes up,” which so many other covers have decide to use (read: Bioshock Infinite).
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance dices its way to store shelves February 19th, 2013, on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Here’s The Full “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance” Demo That Came With “ZOE HD”
Recently released this week was Zone of the Enders HD Collection and, although overshadowed by other releases, it included one thing that everyone can get excited about: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Well, maybe not all of Revengeance, but it has a demo of the game featuring new areas that weren’t being shown off at the recent game conventions that have been held. I got to try a demo at PAX and I can definitely say that the new demo has significantly more polish, although it still has some camera issues.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance hits store shelves on Feburary 19, 2013, for PS3 and 360.

The Metal Gear franchise is one of the most beloved in gaming. Solid Snake is easily one of the most interesting and badass characters ever created, while the plots are always complex and full of surprises.
On the other hand, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a game built on the ashes of a failed Metal Gear Solid 5 and labeled as a spinoff of the main franchise.
I went into Rising with as open a mind as possible and came out both concerned and surprised at the demo on display.

Remember that slightly weird Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance teaser trailer that was released last week? It was promised that a longer trailer, which may answer some of the questions raised in the original teaser.
This trailer was unveiled on April 30th, revealing that the trailer is a recovered video segment from Raiden’s severed arm, hence the title of the video, “Arm.” The YouTube page seems to suggest that more video segments will be decrypted or unveiled in the future.
