Weekend Remix: Stark Records

Song: The Iron Man Trilogy Remix
By: Mike Relm
Based On: Iron Man from Black Sabbath and sounds and clips from Iron Man (film)
Original Composers: Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler,Bill Ward, and Tony Iommi

It’s no secret that most fans were left impressed with the latest Iron Man film. The movie not only managed to smash box office records, but it also garnered some praise on the level of Marvel’s The Avengers.

It served as a perfect film to properly open the summer movie season. With Stark’s solo film adventures now a trilogy, it would make sense for Mike Relm’s remix to document that fact.

Relm’s mix takes the Sabbath classic into a techno realm, sprinkling in chopped soundbites and scenes as if a DJ is playing doctor on the trilogy.

It’s a fun addition to the films.

Hans Zimmer - DNA ''Man of Steel''

New “Man Of Steel” Score Track

Following an official preview on WaterTower’s SoundCloud, one track from the upcoming Man Of Steel film has made its way online. The soundtrack was composed by Hans Zimmer who talked recently with Rolling Stone magazine about composing the soundtrack.

”My inspiration for the music came from trying to celebrate all that is good and kind in the people of America’s heartland, without cleverness or cynicism,” Zimmer said. “Just from the heart. I wanted the epic sound of the fields and farms stretching past the horizon, of the wind humming in the telephone wires. The music is less about the icon that Superman is and more about the outsider with extraordinary powers and his struggle to become a part of humanity.”

You can listen to one track, DNA, above. Man Of Steel comes out in theaters June 14.

Lupe Fiasco/Trigun Mashup - redmtal

Lupe Fiasco/Trigun Mashup

by redmtal

Weekend Remix: Rapper’s Bluff

Song: Lupe Fiasco/Trigun Mashup
By: redmtal
Based On: Big Bluff from Trigun and I’m Beamin’ from Lupe Fiasco
Original Composer: Tsuneo Imahori

This edition of The Weekend Remix is worth at least 60,000,000,000$$, but I swear it didn’t level a city.

Maybe it doesn’t make much sense to do a mashup between one of the world’s lyrically strong rappers in the game and the soundtrack to a Mr. Vash The Stampede. Or maybe it does. One could argue that Fiasco’s deep bars are a perfect compliment to the layered story and characters of Trigun.

But however you wanna slice it, you’ve got to admit that this mashup between Lupe’s I’m Beamin’ and Trigun’s Big Bluff seems tailor made for each other. Interstellar cool crashes onto a dust ball planet of gun battles and sandstorms in redmtal’s mashup, making this sound like something between Danger Mouse, Imahori, and gunfight Westerns.

“Lord Of The Rings” LEGO Helms Deep

This Lord Of The Rings LEGO edition of Helms Deep was built by Rich-K and Big J and is truly one of the most creative LEGO created film scenes.

It certainly uses a lot. The two used 150,000 LEGO bricks and 1,700 minifigs. I’m sure even Peter Jackson would be impressed.

Could Green Lantern Appear In “Arrow”?
There’s a bit of a history between Green Lantern and Green Arrow teaming up in the comics, as well as appearing in each other’s titles. SO could we see another shade green in the Arrow television show?
According to Arrow Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim, it’s at least been discussed.

“I would never say never. It’s certainly something that we’ve talked about.
As with all DC characters, we have to figure out a way for those characters to fit within our Arrow universe. But when you consider the importance that Hal Jordan plays in the Green Arrow comics, it’s certainly one of those names that we’ve discussed a great deal. I have Ryan Reynolds’ phone number around here somewhere.”

What do you think? Would you like to see Green Lantern appear in Arrow?

Daniel Radcliffe To Star In “Tokyo Vice” Movie

It looks like Jake Adelstein’s Tokyo Vice is not only getting a live-action film, but it already has its leading man. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) will star as the author, as the adaptation details Adelstein’s real-life story of being an American who covered the Tokyo Crime Beat and the Yakuza.

Tokyo Vice is a personal favorite of mine, and while I don’t really see the resemblance between Radcliffe and Adelstein, I’m sure he’s got the acting chops to do the film justice.

Production is scheduled to begin next year.

S3RL - 'Neon Genesis' - Pulse Remix [Relentless Digital] Out Now!!! @ Hardcore Addiction 6

Weekend Remix: Cruel Dance Thesis

Song: ‘Neon Genesis’ Pulse Remix
By: Pulse and DJ S3RL
Based On: ”Cruel Angel’s Thesis” from Neon Genesis Evangelion and Neon Genesis from S3RL
Original Composers:  Yoko Takahashi, Neko Oikawa, Hidetoshi Satō Toshiyuki Ōmori

Prep your Eva-Unit for this edition of the Weekend Remix, as we’re diving into the music of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

“Cruel Angel Thesis” is quite a unique opening for Neon Genesis Evangelion if you think about it. A show whose theme, character, and story-wise is about as heavy as a city-destroying mech would usually warrant a somber or serious sounding opening, at least musically speaking. The lyrics are another story.

Instead, thanks to the insistence of television execs, the show got a hard driving but catchy J-pop shell.

DJ S3RL’s initial remix placed the song on a hardcore techno bent. And thanks to Pulse’ remix of that remix (more layers than Inception at this point folks), the song manages to go further down the techno rabbit hole, speeding up the pitch of the sampled original and layering it against the backdrop setting of some fun acid warehouse rave.

Whether it serves as the soundtrack to an ambitious AMV or a track to get the cosplaying crowd going, Pulse’s remix of this tune is a definite must hear.

If you’d like to hear more from Pulse or S3RL, check them out here and here.

Man Builds 80,000 Volt Thor’s Hammer

“It’s high voltage you cant shake the shock/Because nobody wants it to stop, check it out.”

Linkin Park’s High Voltage, anyone? Well, at least one man might want to consider adopting it as his theme song thanks to this DIY Thor Hammer project. Caleb from Hackaday managed to build an 80,000 volt Thor Hammer out of tesla coil and foam. As you’ll see in the video, it’s even capable of lighting up a light bulb.

It’s so cool, he might as well master “numerology and big bang theology.”

Seriously, man, High Voltage is a great song.

Hockey And GO Combine For Jerseys

Canadian artist Dave Delisle decided to combine his love for hockey and geekdom with these custom made jerseys. I’ve never really played hockey, but I would gladly sport that Robotech jersey.

“A jersey isn’t just a glorified sweater. Or some sweaty uniform that gets worn during a game. Jerseys are much more than that — they’re the tuxedo of geeks.

Worn all over the world, for any occasion, they demand attention. But something has always been missing from jerseys, a bit of je ne sais quoi, you might say..”

A Realistic “Transformers” Costume

This ‘Bolt’ Transformers costume is probably more than meets the eye. Sorry, couldn’t resist. The video and costume come courtesy of Marksprojects who said that it features:

“… moving eyes, working light-up and smoke thrusters to moving mouth piece with voice amplifier to remote control arms with moving features in the arms as well as insane level detailing and transformers movie esthetics.. this is the best piece i have ever done and really proud of the end result.”

Take a look at the video and judge for yourself.
