As a way to help kick off a new year and a new era for Pop GO, we are publishing POPcast, the official podcast of Population GO!
Now this isn’t a one time, special podcast type of deal. The goal is to publish new episodes at least once a month with different staff members taking part each time, and hopefully it’ll help connect you with our writers a bit better.
In the debut episode, Erin (solarstory), Ian (thatninja) and Steve (elitist-movie-snob) kick off the launch of POPcast by sharing their own favorite origin stories, answering reader questions and talking general Pop GO nonsense.

This weekend, a few staff members will be recording episode 1 of POPcast, the official podcast of Population GO. It’ll hopefully be the first of many podcasts down the line. It should be a fun listen — they’ll be talking Pop GO stuff, weighing in on a specific GO topic and answering reader questions.
For a chance at having your question answered on the podcast, you can email us at populationgo@gmail.com, or if you’re a Tumblr user, you can leave a question in our Ask Box.
Staff members confirmed to be on the podcast:
Erin (anime)
Ian (gaming)
Steve (film)
You can either ask a question specifically directed at a one of our staff members, or you can ask a question that all staff members can answer (suggested). Any (non-offensive) questions are welcome, long or short. So don’t be shy, send in your questions and most likely get them answered on the podcast!

Pop GO wouldn’t be what it is today if it didn’t have the continued support of the readers. So this week, while not as ambitious as the first Reader Appreciation Week, is meant to do just that: show our appreciation to our wonderful readers out there!
To help celebrate this week, a few staff members — Calvin, Erin, Ian, Paolo and Steve — came together and recorded a special podcast this past weekend. And thanks to those of you who sent in topics, they had a lot of good things to talk about!
If your topic was chosen by a specific member and discussed by the rest of the staff members, then you will be given an awesome prize from the member who chose your topic! Did your topic get chosen? Download the podcast to find out!
And even if you didn’t send in a topic, give the podcast a listen. Very good discussions were had on it, and it’ll allow you to familiarize yourself with a few of our writers.
Hit the break to listen to Pop GO’s special R.A.W. Podcast! :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that the podcast we promoted all last week was recorded this past weekend and will be published later today at 5pm PT.
Big thanks to everyone who sent in topic ideas through Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and email! Our staff very much appreciated it. Be sure to listen to the podcast to see if your topic was chosen by one of the staff members and to find out what prizes they will be giving away.
To everyone who didn’t send in any topics, give our podcast a listen anyway! It was created for you, the readers. There’s some good discussion going on, and it’s a good way to familiarize yourself with some of Pop GO’s writers. Depending on the type of support we get, we may possibly make podcasting an official, regular thing in the future.
Finally, the creation of today’s special podcast is a big part of our Reader Appreciation Week, which we have been quietly celebrating this week. In addition to the podcast, we’ve tweaked the site a bit, adding some new features here and there. We’ve also got a bunch of original content and a contest or two still coming your way this week, so be sure to check them out!
Enjoy!
-Pop GO

A group of staff members will be recording a special podcast this weekend but they need things to talk about!
Send in geeky topic ideas for a chance to not only get your topic discussed and featured on the podcast, but to also win yourself a cool prize such as manga, comics, video games, anime and film DVDs, among others!
Try to give us broad topics that can be discussed by different staff members. For example: “What’s your favorite anime of all-time?” WON’T work because the non-anime watchers won’t be able to discuss it, but “What’s your favorite hobby?” WILL work. Although, I would try to be a bit more creative than that. Good example: “If you could choose a character (from anime, cartoons, comics, film, gaming, or television) to babysit your kids, who would you choose and why?”
Leave your topic in our Ask Box or email us your topic (write ‘Podcast Topic’ in the subject) at populationgo@gmail.com. Don’t be shy! :)
