One of my favorite parts of the Portal games has to be the killer robots. GLaDOS and Wheatley both get the bulk of the credit, but we all know who provides the best comedic relief and sits back in the shadows: the Aperture Sentry Turret.

This little bot of death is sleek and stylish with beautiful lines, great aesthetics and dual mounted machine guns for extra firepower. And now you can own one with full motion sensing capabilities and sound effects to protect your living room (mounted guns not included).

Fan Favorite’s last Final 4 match-up features two characters facing off in what appears to be (on paper) the most evenly matched battle since Ichigo went 12 rounds with Ippo. Both competitors dominated their opponents in the Sweet 16 — Vriska Serket became Catherine’s worst nightmare and Wheatley proved to be virtually hack-proof against Lisbeth Salander — and are now on a geeky head-on collision.

Troll vs. Personal Construct. Homestuck vs. Portal 2. Comics vs. Gaming. Which one will represent the Geek bracket in the championship round?

The second Elite 8 match-up pits two Geek characters who have had two relatively different trips up to this point. Wheatley has faced very little opposition from his non-robot counterparts — easily advancing past his most recent foe, Swamp Thing. Lisbeth Salander, on the other hand, has had to sweat both of her two previous matches — barely squeaking by Daredevil in the round of 16.

Will the Personality Conduct effortlessly float to victory, or can the tattooed hacker short-circuit her spherical opponent?

Featured in today’s Sweet 16 is a battle between two fierce Otaku characters. Ichigo Kurosaki was able to deal a last-second KO against Ippo Makunouchi and Kyoko Sakura successfully out-performed Makoto Kikuchi. Shinigami vs. Mahou Shojou: Which fighter prevails?

Over in the Geek bracket, the second gaming vs. comics showdown in the round takes place. Wheatley used his British charms to carry himself past Female Shepard, while Swamp Thing was able to stymie Caesar’s revolt. Will video game characters go 3 for 3 in the Sweet 16, or will the second comic book rep make it to the Elite 8?

In today’s featured video game match-up, voters are treated to a geektacular showdown between Personality Construct Wheatley and Earth’s leading heroine Female Shepard.

I had a really difficult time picking my Game of the Year this time around. It was down to a handful of different games: Uncharted 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, etc. In the end, it came down to entertainment value, which left only a single worthy candidate: Portal 2.

Dark Souls (PS3, 360): Software’s spiritual successor to 2009’s Demon’s Souls is finally here to amuse and torture gamers. The masochistic difficulty will push players to the limit of their sanity, but those that stick with it will feel a true sense of accomplishment that is lacking from so many games these days.

RAGE (PS3, 360, PC): From id and Bethesda comes the next big open world shooter. The world gives a Borderlands vibe while the combat is very reminiscent of the classic, satisfying id style. Clocking in at 3 discs on the 360 and an 8GB install on the PS3, this is one meaty adventure.
