
If you’ve been watching television for as long as I have, it’s only natural to develop crushes on actors, personalities and characters. And with me being a red-blooded male, I crushed on a lot of television girls over the years.
As an Asian American myself, I’ve always been more drawn to Asian women. And while there has been a steady increase of talented Asian individuals presented on American screens (small and big) than ever before, it’s understandably still a minor percentage. Which is why when Asian women are featured more prominently in the shows I’m watching, my heart tends to gravitate towards them more.

It is common knowledge that Power Rangers, the show that many of us grew up watching, is based off of the Japanese Super Sentai series. But did you know that the creator of the Super Sentai series and the prominent Kamen Rider series was, in fact, a mangaka?
Shotaro Ishinomori-sensei was an influential figure in not only manga and anime but also tokusatsu, the “Japanese term that applies to any live-action film or television drama that usually features superheroes and makes considerable use of special effects.”

Saban Brands sent out a press release today with news of the next Power Rangers series to premiere on Nickelodeon in 2013.
Titled Power Rangers Megaforce, the show will promise “mega action, humor and excitement” as Saban celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise.

Nancy Lombardi of aNb Media tweeted a couple of days ago that Saban Brands had formed a partnership with Netflix, thus allowing domestic users the freedom to stream all 732 episodes of the Power Rangers franchise starting today, July 15.
Based off the original Super Sentai franchise in Japan, Power Rangers has spanned 19 (18 official) seasons in North America, from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993, to the current Power Rangers Samurai in 2011.
Every season excluding Power Rangers Samurai is now streaming on Netflix.
Not only that, every episode of BeetleBorgs and V.R. Troopers are also now available.
