I may be just a fanboy of a dying franchise, but Final Fantasy has been around for twenty-five years. To celebrate its longevity, Square-Enix has granted us with a nice little sale for select titles that will last two weeks.
While this may not awe many of you, I think this is a great opportunity to re-spark the much heated debate of which Final Fantasy is the best. Maybe the new generation can comes to terms with the old-school RPGs?
In any case, the full list is after the cut.

Another classic PS2 game is becoming downloadable beginning soon.
Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, the second game in the highly-popular strategy-RPG series, will be a “PS2 Classic” on PSN starting on January 22nd. It will carry a standard $9.99 price tag and should be a straight port of the PS2 version, not the PSP version released later (and included extra content).

In honor of its 30th anniversary this year, Capcom is bringing many of its classic arcade games to PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE. The collection is called “Arcade Cabinet,” but its official list of games is yet to be released. Expect hits like Commando and Black Tiger.
As perfect ports, these games are going to be as difficult as the originals were — if you want them to be. This is sure to be a welcome challenge for gamers who remember when these arcade games were first released, but you’d prefer an easier time of it, Capcom should be adding new modes so players can adjust the difficulty.
Brace yourself for more details from Capcom on February 7.

“Tokyo Jungle” Thinks Wild Animals Are Taking Over On September 25th
Tokyo Jungle is one of those “only in Japan” games that, as weird as it is, is strangely appealing to look at and really makes gamers want give it a try.
Taking the role of one of over 50 animals, players will try to not only stay alive in the concrete jungle of Tokyo, but try to thrive and form packs to dominate the wild. The game will be made up of two different modes, single player and survival, but the only thing that will really matter in the end is how long you can stay alive as a monkey.
Tokyo Jungle will be released September 25th on PSN for $15.

What started as two separate projects from tournament fighter Mike “Mike Z” Zaimont and artist Alex Ahad, meshed into a single game that not only gained the support of newcomers Reverge Labs and hungry rookie Autumn Games, but even gained the attention of veteran Konami.
Now, after waves of promising trailers, hands-on tournament demos, and a sea of fan art, Skullgirls is finally here and ready to take a slice of the big fighting game pie.
But does this new 2D challenger provide a first round knockout? Or is it already game over?
More after the break!

“Quantum Conundrum” To Arrive In Summer 2012
Played and loved Portal? Well, Quantum Conundrum is the product of Kim Swift, the project lead of beloved first-person puzzle platform game. Similar to Portal, Quantum Conundrum is also a first-person puzzle game from Square Enix and Airtight Games and (as mentioned) designed by Kim Swift.
What sets it aside from Portal, aside from the colour scheme, is that instead of moving through portals, you’re now moving through several different dimensions. Quantum Conundrum follows the gamer as a kid visiting your eccentric old uncle, an inventor called Professor Quadwrangle. Professor Quadwragnle subsequently gets trapped inside one of the dimensions, and it is up to you to rescue him using his Inter-Dimensional Shift Device.
Check out the gameplay video embedded to know more. Quantum Conundrum is due out in Summer 2012 for the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC.

Yesterday, we reported that Journey is hitting the Japanese PSN on March 15th, with no news of the release dates for the West. Today, Gamasutra has reported that Journey will be out for the PSN in the West on March 13th.
I’m assuming that both the NA and EU side will get the game on the same date, since different dates are not explicitly stated.

It was reported several days ago that thatgamecompany, developer of the wonderful flOW and Flower, has finally finished development on its highly anticipated game, Journey, and intends to released sometime in March.
Famitsu, however, has revealed a more precise release date for Japan: March 15th, with a price point of ¥1,200. Since Journey is not a Japanese game, it is likely that the release dates for NA and EU regions will be around that time period.

After the news that there would be no PSP passport program for North America, Sony has announced the 275 PSP games that will be supported on the PS Vita when the First Edition Bundle is released next week. These are, of course, PSP games that have to be purchased on the PSN store, which seems to be the only foreseeable way to acquire new PSP games for the Vita.
The entire long list of supported games is after the break.
