Don’t forget to cast your vote for today’s First Round match-up — Watashi (Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita) vs. Jill Valentine (Resident Evil: Revelations) vs. Trafalgar Law (One Piece) — before the poll closes tomorrow at 8 am PT.
Every little vote counts, so please help do your part to send (or prevent from sending) another otaku character into the Sweet 16!

Today’s penultimate First Round otaku battle features a good mix of characters.
Watashi may be sweet, but if opponents aren’t careful, they’re liable to succumb to either her sharp knife or her sharp tongue. While an agent of good, Jill Valentine has been a resident of evil for a long time, so there’s no foe or fiend she can overcome. Finally, Warlord Trafalgar Law is as strong a pirate as they come, and he’s not gonna allow anyone to separate him from his goal of being Fan Favorite.
Which otaku character is going to escape the weekend in the Sweet 16? Help decide by voting after the break!

Paul W.S. Anderson, the writer, producer, and director of the Resident Evil live-action films, apparently wants to bring another franchise to the big screen. Talking to Cinema Today, Anderson noted an interest in making a live-action Monster Hunter film.
“Recently, I’ve been loving Monster Hunter,” Anderson said. “A film conversion is currently in planning.”
This doesn’t note whether this is strictly a plan solely from Anderson, or if he got the greenlight from Capcom to do it.
