The Xbox One seems to have polarized gamers around the world. There seems to be a strong voice that loves the changes and potential it represents. The other group appears to be up in arms over the potential erasure of used games and a console that requires an internet connection.
I fall somewhere in the middle. I’m not being indecisive; far from it. Actually, I saw a lot to love and a bit to loath all within the span about about an hour because of a single box: the Xbox One.

Hey Pop GOers! Hope you’re enjoying your dose of spring anime. Now that we have reached just about the halfway point of most currently airing series, it is time to voice our favorites of the season.

And don’t be afraid to tell us your Favorite Anime of Spring 2013.

While not necessarily real terminology, The Seat of the Gods (a.k.a. The Main Character’s Seat in the Classroom), is more of a concept that is often seen in the school setting within anime and manga.

When Sony announced the PlayStation Vita a little under two years ago at E3 2011, gamers were electric with excitement over the first handheld that seemed to be able to truly match the experience of home console gaming.
Fast forward to just past the first anniversary of the PS Vita where things are looking very grim. Sony seems to have all but given up on saving their powerful game machine, instead opting to focus their efforts on the upcoming PS4, while surrendering the portable market to Nintendo’s 3DS.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, but I’m not here to recite every failure of the Vita. I’d rather talk gamers out of the worst possible use of their precious dollars in gaming currently.

So you like the anime so far this season, but you still don’t have quite enough to watch? You want a little bit more? You’ve come to the right place!

Our phones are smart, our glasses are smart*, and now our watches are smart, too. The Pebble is one of the first and most successful watches that can sync with both an iPhone and an android smartphone. This watch was destined for greatness when the Kickstarter project garnered funding that was over 10,266 times the project’s goal.
After being released a few weeks ago, I have extensively explored the The Pebble’s capabilities. Hit the break to read what I think of it.

Starting a new hobby is always daunting. You want to get into something new, and yet it’s a big, scary world full of new rules and things to learn, and you don’t want to screw it up, right? Comic book collecting is like that to a terrifying degree.
The rich continuity, vast amounts of characters, and numerous reboots and retcons make everything confusing enough to follow without having to worry about when issues are released, or what titles showcase which characters, or which of the fifteen thousand Batman books appeals to you.
I’ve compiled a list here of my top 5 Comic Collecting Dos and Don’ts which should help new readers break in a little easier and experience the rich world of comics, and maybe even give existing readers a fresh outlook on their hobby.

I’m going to assume you assume that I don’t like anime. And it’s a totally fair assumption; if it was based on just my reviews, I’d think I hate anime too. But I like to think that’s not the case. I miss watching as a preteen and being blown away every time something truly epic happened or when the hero beat the big baddie. Every so often there’s a show or series that comes around and makes me remember what I love about anime. I like to believe that I haven’t outgrown it and that awestruck feeling is still possible, which is why I love the Anime Mirai Project.
Anime Mirai, formerly the Young Animator’s Project, is a program started back in 2010 by the Agency of Cultural Affairs of Japan. The agency recieves 214 million yen (over $2.27 million) from the government and distributes it to some lesser known studios. These studios then train young animators by producing an original video animation (OVA) to be screened at conferences and festivals. And this is really the most exciting thing about this whole thing — from this project, we get to see some incredible stories and amazing animation done by some of the up and coming animators of Japan.
Don’t believe me? Just try to resist the amazingness that is Anime Mirai.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise is a mesmerizing concoction of one parts “lightning in a bottle” and two parts “pure absurdity.” I consider this relevant considering it’s immense commercial and critical weight juxtaposed with the premise: tread through niche and popular history to assassinate targets via the medium of a [insert science fiction machine].
Whether gaming audiences have evolved to accept this willingly or simply adore the assassination mechanics regardless of the historical setting, Assassin’s Creed has chops when it comes to taking chances.
And with that, late 2013 will see it’s next annual release with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. While Assassin’s Creed III concentrated on early American history – and in particular on the American Revolution – Assassin’s Creed IV is opting to go a little further back, this time to the early 18th century.
Hit the break for all the scurvy details.

With G4 switching its full content lineup over to a men’s channel, there’s a woeful lack of programs about gaming anymore. While there is an abundance of gamers on YouTube that provide plenty of entertaining content, most lack the production values that come from having a dedicated crew to produce shows with all that wonderful extra polish.
However, there is one remaining show left that can provide gamers with a gut-busting amount of comedy and is still currently running after more than 150 episodes. It can also be credited with creating the popular “Let’s Play” format of many of the YouTube stars you might currently watch today.
Gamers, meet Game Center CX.

Psycho-Pass and Shinsekai Yori are two carryover shows from the Fall 2012 season, and both are set in dystopian societies which apply strict utilitarian regimes to keep people in line. Utilitarianism is a theory in normative ethics (the study of ethical action) which argues that the universally proper course of action is whatever maximizes happiness and minimizes suffering.
