“Ninja Turtles” Has Found Its Raphael

Undoubtedly the coolest of the Turtles, Raphael has been cast for Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles film. The man given the task of wielding the virtual sais is Alan Ritchson (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Aquaman in Smallville).

Deadline reports that Ritchson will apparently play the role using motion capture. He will be starring opposite Megan Fox, who will be the film’s April O’Neil.

Produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman, Ninja Turtles will be released on 6th June, 2014.

Michael Bay’s “Ninja Turtles” To Start Shooting In April

image

[via]

Since fans hearts sank at the news of a Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, not to mention the subsequent renaming to Ninja Turtles and the changing of the origins -– the characters will be an alien race –- there’s been little to no news on the project.

Fear not, true believers, for the guys over at Production Weekly have taken to Twitter to give a brief update on where the film is currently at.

Nickelodeon Releases A Second “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Trailer

After revealing more details about this upcoming series at Comic Con last weekend, Nickelodeon has released another trailer for their new show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The series, which is going to premiere on September 29th on Nickelodeon, will be featuring slight changes from the old school 90s series and the fan favorite 2003 series.

Other than changing the animation style to CGI, the turtles will be featuring a wider array of weapons and fighting styles, including having both Donatello and Michelangelo wield bladed weapons as opposed to their blunt ones.

As a fan of the ridiculous, slapstick-filled 90s series and the more serious, action-oriented 2003 series, I am a bit skeptical about Nickelodeon taking the reigns of this childhood favorite. But I am hoping they will mix the good parts of both former shows and create a great new show!

Earlier this year, you may have gotten a sneak peek at the TMNT franchise that Nickelodeon is set to reboot, as well as some prototype figures by Playmates Toys to accompany the new series. Airing soon on September 29, it’s only natural to have a toy line ready.

However, the following figures are not currently available on store shelves and not due out for another month or so. Below is our exclusive and first official look at what the retail toys have to offer.

Michael Bay To “TMNT” Fans: “Take a breath, and chill.”

[via

I’m sure that if you are a long-term fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the recent suggestion from Michael Bay that his film reboot will see the heroes have extraterrestrial origins, rather than being mutants has somewhat alarmed a lot of the fan base.

Well chill out, people. Bay’s words, not mine.

“TMNT” Reboot Film Coming December 2013

[via]

Paramount announced their plans to release the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action reboot in December of next year.

Little is currently known of the film as far as plot, but it is said that Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes is handling the production. Josh Appelbaum and Andrew Nemac (Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol) are revising a script that was originally written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man). There’s also a rumor that Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath Of The Titans) will direct.

With that much ammunition, this reboot may have more action compared to previous films in the series.
