Good Smile 2014 Snow Miku Nendoroid Winner

The winner of the Good Smile x Piapro 2014 Snow Miku Nendoroid has been decided!

Like last year, fans were asked to design the next snow version of Hatsune Miku. This year’s theme, fans were asked to design Miku as a ‘Mahou Shoujo’ (magical girl) along with a wand and a cute little pet. Out of the nine finalists, fans voted for the top three, and from the top three, the winner was decided.

Expect to see this cute little Mahou Shoujo Miku as a Nendoroid sometime this year!

“Lord Of The Rings” LEGO Helms Deep

This Lord Of The Rings LEGO edition of Helms Deep was built by Rich-K and Big J and is truly one of the most creative LEGO created film scenes.

It certainly uses a lot. The two used 150,000 LEGO bricks and 1,700 minifigs. I’m sure even Peter Jackson would be impressed.

Pre-Order D-arts Mega Man X and Venusaur

Currently up for pre-order are two amazing Bandai D-arts figures worth adding to your collections.

I’m not a big Mega Man fan, but damn, I can’t resist that Mega Man X Ultimate Armor D-arts figure.  The detail and the color of his metallized armor is just too amazing to pass up.  Mega Man will come with an extra faceplate and some action attachments.  D-arts Mega Man X Ultimate Armor will go for about ¥4500.

Also Pokefans, don’t forget to add Venusaur to your D-arts Pokemon collection.  In my opinion, Venusaur looks the best out of the three current Pokemon figures.   Venusaur comes with vine whip attachments and will go for about   ¥3800.  Pre-orders for these two figures can be found at:

Chibi-Arts Tony Tony Chopper

Looks like Bandai has announced that their next One Piece Chibi-Arts character to be released this year is Tony Tony Chopper!

I’m not sure why they’re giving us new Chopper when the current Chibi-Arts Luffy and Nami are still in their old outfits, but either way he’s still adorable.  Aside from his sitting body and two extra face plates,  it looks like Chopper will have a nice assortment of accessories, including his medical book, syringe, medicine mixing bowl, and his cotton candy.

Chopper is due to be release something in August and will be going for about ¥3,675 (roughly $37).

The Riajuu Coat AKA ‘Girlfriend Coat’

image

A group of Japanese students at the University of Tsukuba have designed a coat that creates a hugging sensation. The Riajuu Coat, dubbed the “Girlfriend Coat” by the media, simulates hugging from behind through the use of a robotized belt. The belt “squeezes” the wearer lightly, simulating a girlfriend/boyfriend’s hug from behind.

More details and video after the break.
