“Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’s” Launch Trailer Has More Robo-Balls Than I Can Handle

The fantastic Far Cry 3 was a big success with critics and gamers in 2012. Now Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon looks to win over the hearts and minds of 80s children with its intense action, inane campiness, and overall hilarity.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a standalone downloadable title using the engine of its namesake, but trades the original story of revenge for a new robotic protagonist that just needs to “get the girl” and save the world in an 80s inspired world of the present.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is downloadable on PC and PS3 today, while the Xbox 360 version is available tomorrow.

Along with a new trailer titled “Out of Control,” Watch Dogs was firmly dated for November 19, 2013. The trailer also revealed that while it is coming to PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC, the game is coming to “Next-Gen Consoles.” Expect to be able to play Watch Dogs on that shiny new Xbox hardware we’ll hear about this month.

They’ll also be given access to their own crew and be able to seek out sunken treasure, harpoon whales and raid other ships. Ubisoft has not officially confirmed or denied anything at this point, but it seems pretty safe to say that a trailer will be coming soon for the next Assassin’s Creed adventure.

Game Review: Far Cry 3

image

When gamers first got a glimpse at Far Cry 3 in action at E3, it looked too good to be true. The prospect of vicious combat, an intense story and living, breathing wildlife seemed like a pipe-dream considering the issues that plagued Far Cry 2.

As surprising at it may seem, Ubisoft Montreal has delivered a game that not just meets the hype of six months ago, but largely exceeds them. The best way to describe Far Cry 3 is to say that it’s a hypnotizing experience absent from reality, straddling the line between madness and beauty, existing to show us the allure of power, ferocity, and insanity.

Tom Hardy Will Be Sam Fischer In The “Splinter Cell” Movie

Publisher Ubisoft is already hard at work trying to create a movie based on their most famous franchise Assassin’s Creed. Now, according to one rumor, Ubisoft has begun upping the ante even more by starting serious work on a Splinter Cell movie by finding a leading man for the film.

Apparently, Tom Hardy — best known for his acting as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and also his supporting role in Inception — has signed on to play the well-known hero for the Splinter Cell franchise, Sam Fischer.

It isn’t clear if the film is based on a game or if it is a standalone project, but fans of the franchise would well to note that there is a new title in the series, Blacklist, due for release sometime in 2013.
