Pokémon Snap: The Movie (Trailer)

Oh snap! One of my beloved games got a fan-made live-action adaptation courtesy of Gritty Reboots. They’re pretty new to the scene with only 2 videos on their YouTube channel so give them some love. Also check out their Harvest Moon live-action trailer as well.

Now to keep crossing my fingers for a Pokémon Snap game for the 3DS implementing the augmented reality (AR) technology.

Final Fantasy Ballad Of The Mages

I’ve never pictured the mages of Final Fantasy singing together in a puppet musical, but comedian Brent Black or Brentafloss decided to make that possible with this video. He spent two years putting together this tribute and, well, you have to see it to believe it.

Check it out.

Dragon*Con 2012 Gangnam Style Music Video

In Korea, PSY’s Gangnam Style has swept the nation with its silly dance moves and upbeat tempo. Then it spread throughout the rest of the world.

It’s a cult… and it hit Dragon*Con 2012 with a fever pitch. Watch as your favorite characters participate in this project.

If you know the dance, I suggest you dance along because you know you want to. Enjoy the MV, or if you prefer the original, by all means, give it a GO

How “The Dark Knight Rises” Should Have Ended

With any big blockbuster film, the ending would be put under a massive microscope and no film has had it worse this year than the conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. The film has been subject to massive amounts of nitpicking (though Ryley and I both loved the film regardless) and here this video takes that nitpicking in jest.

“DayZ” Is A True Simulator For The Chaos Of Destroyed Society

DayZ, the popular zombie-survival mod of ARMA II, has become a gaming sensation in the past few months with thousands of videos springing up on YouTube of people’s exploits. If you’ve seen any of those videos, you might have realized how scarily accurate the game is as a simulation for the insane and chaotic descent society would take if facing an apocalypse.

The video above finds a squad of survivors on a bus, an extreme rarity in the game, headed to what sounds like a rebuilding of organized society. Of course, as the players in the video learned, it was too good to be true…

DJ Flula Interviews Cast Of “The Dictator”

Screen Junkies posted this video of someone named DJ Flula interviewing the cast of The Dictator, so to get you primed for the film (or my review of it) this weekend, watch this hapless young man get decimated by the cast of the film.

Harrison Ford Gets His Han Solo Dance Party On

Okay, so it’s not real. It’s a very clever mash-up of this video of Harrison Ford playing Uncharted 3 and that awful new video of the DDR portion of the Star Wars Kinect game for 360. That doesn’t make it any less funny, however… or sad.

Mega Man X Concept

Leave it to director Olan Rogers to not only piece together a Mega Man X concept video that blows away some of the video game live-action adaptations out of the water, but also manage to do so with so little of a budget.

Rogers pieced this project together with only $700. The video does pretty good job of hitting the nostalgic button by implementing Dr. Light, X, and even Protoman in hologram form.

PAC-MAN The Movie

The folks at Steelhouse Digital decided to make a high-end short on PAC-MAN or, as he’s known in the video, Polymorphic Autonomous Compound Manipulator.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma production company seemed to successfully make us forget about that 80’s cartoon adaptation.

“Gotham By Gaslight” Prototype Video

So you’ve played the Batman:Arkham series by Rocksteady Studios, but have you ever wondered what it would be like to play as Batman in a steampunk setting? Specifically in the one-shot comic Gotham By Gaslight?

Turns out that Day 1 Studios, developer of F.3.A.R. and Fracture, was working on such a game, throwing Batman into the world of steampunk, tracking down Jack the Ripper, with Gotham By Gaslight as the source material. Unfortunately, the pitch for the game didn’t go through and it was cancelled.

Well, at least we have this prototype video to see what it might have become, if it had gone through. Note that this is still a prototype video, hence the level of completion on this is unknown. No point in comparing it to a finished and highly polished work, such as the Arkham series. I do like how his cape flows around Batman though.

“The Last of Us” Story and Environment Trailer

Game Informer has just released a trailer featuring game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Bruckmann talking about the specifics of The Last of Us.

Watch as they talk about the premise and environment of the game.

The Last of Us is not finished yet and they’re already addressing the issue of a potential sequel.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare” Observatory Demo From CES 2012

This is the other video of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare gameplay videos that have surfaced from CES 2012. This features the Observatory level gameplay in the game, which revolves around one entire episode of Night Springs, a creation by Alan Wake early in his career.

Oskari Häkkinen estimatse a gameplay of 4-5 core gameplay hours for the XBLA game, excluding all the optional extra content such as collecting all the manuscripts which will further the story and fight maps which will unlock different difficult levels.

Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is scheduled to be released in February 2012 on Xbox Live Arcade.

Watch “Skyrim” Being Played On Razer’s Project Fiona

Still think that Razer’s Project Fiona is just a tablet incapable of playing fancy games? Destructoid checked out the device at CES 2012 and has released a video showing PC’s hottest game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, being played on the new gaming device on “Ultra High” settings. The video shows off the highly detailed graphics Project Fiona is capable of with no apparent lags in gameplay.

I certainly did not see this coming. Though I wonder what the battery life will be like for such a high performance portable device.

“Tangled Ever After” Clip

I really enjoyed Tangled. If you did too then we should be excited to know that the above video is a clip of an animated short that is set to play before Beauty and the Beast 3D (in theaters January 13).

This Tangled short looks like it’s about the actual wedding ceremony between Rapunzel and Flynn, but it’s mostly concentrated on the wild antics that happen when Pascal and Maximus lose the rings.

Arrow To The Knee

The release of Skyrim has not only resulted in one of the best games of the year, but also one of the most annoying catch phrases in “Arrow to the Knee”. Though it was amusing at first, it’s quickly been degraded due to overuse.

Here is a hilarious video to which sums up the feelings of many who have come to hate the phrase. Thank you, Psychic Pebbles
