When Sony announced the PlayStation Vita a little under two years ago at E3 2011, gamers were electric with excitement over the first handheld that seemed to be able to truly match the experience of home console gaming.
Fast forward to just past the first anniversary of the PS Vita where things are looking very grim. Sony seems to have all but given up on saving their powerful game machine, instead opting to focus their efforts on the upcoming PS4, while surrendering the portable market to Nintendo’s 3DS.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, but I’m not here to recite every failure of the Vita. I’d rather talk gamers out of the worst possible use of their precious dollars in gaming currently.

“Killzone: Mercenary” Debut Gameplay Trailer
It’s been hard to recommend a PS Vita lately with its bare library and releases that have all but dried up. Following the big promises made by Sony at its debut, it finally looks like a shooter may finally take advantage of the dual thumbsticks on the portable.
Killzone: Mercenary looks to capture much of the series’ trademark action, offering a futuristic, gritty feel to portable gamers. Pulling from events of the second and third games of the series, the game will be attempting to suck-in new players while appealing to fans of the franchise.
