Hi 5

1) What makes you a(n) [geek or otaku]?

I think my geekiness is attributed to my capability to fully immerse myself in whatever captures my attention, be it comics, tech, film, music, video games etc. I’m hardly ADD, but my attention to certain things come and go. I’d like to think of myself as a well-rounded geek. Of all things, my affinity for tech and music, however, never die down. If you’re wondering “why music?,” it’s because I’m referring to the general, classical genre, and my ability to play. I’m geek for it. :-)

As of late, I’ve stepped into the “otaku” realm. I see it as being “geeky” towards anime, manga, and eastern culture. I’ve touched on a number of anime growing up, but it wasn’t until the arrival of free streaming feeds and fansubs that I really got into it; partly because there’s anime that touches on the geeky things I like: tech, sci-fi/comics (as in superhuman/supernatural), and video game crossovers. (^_^)

2) Zombie invasion will hit your town in t-minus 24 hours: What will you do?

It might take a while to learn what will be effective against taking out a coming horde, but to start off with basics, there’s nothing like busting undead heads with brute force. I’d gather up whatever items I can use as is, or build into melee weapons. For example, I already eyeballed an old, electric guitar and figured I could either use the whole blunt thing; or lighten it up by removing the neck and replace the machine head tuners with spiked bolts threaded through. I also remember LucasArts and Konami told me that soda cans and tomatoes can be equally effective (ZAMN). Next, I’ll sort through whatever weapons I feel is best. Then I’d wait. Yes, wait. Basing this on what I’ve learned through my video gaming experience, I suck at the offensive. Working defense will be my greatest asset. I’ll wait until it’s necessary to venture out. Since these pre-horde actions won’t take all day, I’d try to group up with friends and get some teamwork going. After that, I’d say let this invasion commence.

3) You will be banished to a deserted island and can only bring 3 items: Which 3 will you bring?

Wish I could be more creative, but really: A suitcase full of knives, solar power unit, and a completely filled ipod will keep me happy and alive.

4) You just moved into a neighborhood inhabited by a bunch of fictional characters (anime, manga, comics, games, tv, film, etc.):

a. Who would you borrow sugar from? Samus Aran (Metroid). It wouldn’t hurt to try.

b. Who would you ask to baby sit the kids?Claire Bennet (Heroes) She’s kind of done it before (spoiler). And should problems with the Mrs. arise… *ahem*

c. Whose wi-fi do you steal? If I had the knowledge to do it at all and discreetly, I’d have to say either Bruce Wayne (Batman) or Tony Stark (Ironman). You know they’ll have ridiculous internet speeds.

d. Who’s your BFF? Rick Hunter (Robotech). Best friends since I was six. Lost touch with him for a while, but rekindled our friendship.

e. Whose Facebook invite do you not accept?Team Rocket (Pokémon). Didn’t like you then, don’t like you now.

5) Five Words:  Do I want to? Yes.
